BRIANNA LEA PRUETT

A singer from her earliest days in the sunny mountains of Nothern California in the 80s, Pruett’s childhood musical education came mostly from her parents vinyl collection - a mix of classical and choir, Jimi Hendrix, Roberta Flack, Janis Joplin, Leo Kottke, Leonard Cohen, John Denver, and Carole King.

She sang jazz as a teen in small clubs and with friends, and recorded and released records while moving around the country, to New York, Los Angeles, and Portland.

Pruett has studied with The Meredith Monk House Foundation in NYC and continues to use the methods, which became an inspiration for her in 2005.

She is a student of native american flute with 2-time Grammy award winner Mary Youngblood, and has shared stages with Jonah Matranga of Far and Gratitude, Jacob Golden, Sean Hayashi, Mark Kozelek of Sun Kil Moon and Red House Painters, Two Sheds, Ruebi Lynn, Nick Jaina, Coal Beautiere, Karl Blau, Lady Lazarus, and others. She has produced music for several artists.

Preparations are in the works to release an EP of brand new songs, Keeping You In Mind.

She is a member of and facilitates Tiger Friends Collective.
